I can’t say that I done much here. A few nights having a few too many drinks and trying the kebabs have been enjoyable.

I’ve walked everywhere when I’ve been out and enjoyed the exercise. My flip flops are squeaking all the time now and I wonder if that’s them protesting that they’re getting old!!

I was told the women here are very beautiful, the person who told me was right, but omitted that they are all either semi professional or full time professional!!

I have watched the football and the tennis each evening and will not be watching this evening as I have a flight at 05:00 tomorrow morning. I have tried to buy cigarettes here as they are less than a £ a pack, but they won’t sell 10 packs at a time.

The people who own the guesthouse have been brilliant. I have refused half the breakfast offered as it’s too much to eat before being fully awake. They have done my laundry for me, including ironing.

I have said to some people that this trip has now got to be too long for a person travelling alone. Yes, you meet different people but there isn’t anyone to give any impetus to get out and do things. I’m looking forward to seeing friends and family again and having some form of structure to the days other than waiting for connections or doing very little.

Still no photos of Almaty!! Therefore a slightly different photo of the goods train carriages.
