Arrived at the station a minute before schedule, not bad for a journey over 3,000 km long and taking 33 hours. Got a taxi from the station to the hotel and they allowed me to check in at about 06:05 this morning.
Had breakfast and dropped off my laundry in the hope of it being washed and coming back ironed as well. Problem in Vietnam is most laundry shops or in the hotels will wash your clothes but not iron them, may as well not wash them and let me find somewhere that does the full job for the same price. Rant over!!
Going to spend most of the day recovering from the train journey, although they call them soft sleepers the mattresses aren’t that soft!! And listening to a multitude of people snoring most of the night makes it even more difficult to sleep. Those who know me well must be thinking pot and kettle as apparently some people’s snoring can be very loud!!
Spent some time today sorting videos and uploading to YouTube. There are links to the videos in the Angkor Wat post and the Ho Chi Minh City Day 4 post.
This afternoon was spent looking for a new bag as the old one (bought in Bangkok last week) was falling apart and the handle had broken off. I managed to get a decent backpack for just under £20-00 after a little bit of bargaining.
The walk meant going around a lake they have in the centre of the city in the middle of the lake was some form of temple or monument.
There was also a bridge from one side of the lake to an island. Very scenic for the centre of a city.
